Apkmodsios.com Colorize your iPhone’s notification badges for free with Pastel
Albeit true that Apple’s native badge notification system leaves a lot to be desired in terms of color customization, the jailbreak community has long offered solutions to this communal grievance. Unfortunately for our wallets, many of those solutions cost the end user money in some way, shape, or form.
Here to shake things up a bit is a newly released jailbreak tweak called Pastel by iOS developer ConorTheDev, which lacks a price tag of any kind. With that in mind, you can now customize the color of your jailbroken iPhone’s notification badges without paying a cent out of pocket.
Pastel works one of two ways: 1) by automatically selecting the prominent color of an app’s icon and using it for any respective notifications badges; or 2) by letting the user manually configure a preferred color for all notification badges regardless of app.
After you install Pastel, you’ll find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where you can configure it to your liking:
Here, you can:
- Toggle Pastel on or off on demand
- Enable custom color selection (if disabled, prominent color is picked automatically)
- Choose a preferred color for your notification badges
If you’re in the market for a cost-efficient and quirky way to make your iPhone stand out from the crowd, then you can’t go wrong with Pastel. The tweak is available for free from the Dynastic Repo repository in your preferred package manager and works with all jailbroken iOS 13 devices. The developer has also open-sourced the tweak on GitHub for those interested in learning more about how it works.
